Soweto born Ntsikelelo “Boyzie” Cekwana lives and works in South Africa.
Along with some of his peers, he is part of an artistic noise for developing a voice for contemporary dance practice and scholarship in Africa.
He founded his first company in Soweto at the age of 18, and, only five years later, was a choreographer at the Playhouse Dance Company in Durban.
In 1996 he founded The Floating Outfit Project together with Desire Davids.
He is a key player in the creation of a regional, southern African collaborative with artists in Mozambique, the DR Congo and South Africa.
