Max Linz (*1984) studied film at the FU Berlin and the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III as well as directing at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). During this time he wrote texts on film aesthetics and politics. In 2012 he was commissioned by the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen to produce the web series “Das Oberhausener Gefühl” for the 50-year anniversary of the Oberhausen Manifesto. This was followed in 2014 by the feature film “Ich will mich nicht künstlich aufregen”, which was premiered in the Forum of the Berlin Film Festival and was then shown at international film festivals as well as in art and theatre contexts (Volksbühne Berlin, 8th Berlin Biennale, BOZAR Brussels and others) before opening in cinemas in 2015. Linz was nominated for the Förderpreis der Filmkunst, given at the “Preis der Nationalgalerie”.
