Miz Korona & The Korona Effect

Biography

The Korona Effect is the band surrounding the awarding-winning hip hop giant Miz Korona. As a canonical hip hop artist she writes texts dealing with the present. In 2009, along with Piper Carter and DJ Invisible, she founded a collective that became a movement: the “Foundation of Women in Hip Hop”. In 2010 she brought out her debut album “The Injection”. Korona’s band includes the musicians Kamau, DJ Invisible, Rain Man and Showtime. Kamau’s way of playing bass is distinguished by rhythmic, funky and harmonic melodies. DJ Invisible has been working as a DJ since 1992 and has been seen on stage and behind the turntables with Xzibit, Obie Trice, Public Enemy and many other artists. The band’s drummer, Detroiter Eric “Rain Man” Gaston, not only makes music himself, he also works as a professor and the director of the percussion department at the Detroit Institute of Music Education. The keyboardist Brandon “Showtime” Bland also works as a singer and producer. He is well-versed in a wide breadth of musical genres and performs worldwide.
