How did the HAU Neighbourhood Card come about? Why is the card available for this neighbourhood?
The idea was developed in dialogue with residents, representatives of organisations and initiatives in the south part of Friedrichstadt: MINA-Leben in Vielfalt, Outreach Berlin, KMA Antenne, and the neighbourhood management on Mehringplatz and HAU associated artists. Through HAU to connect, HAU has been in continuous contact with the neighbourhood surrounding Mehringplatz for some time now. This connection has already resulted in numerous projects and collaborations with the neighbours, which have also had an impact on HAU's development and programme. Neighbours are involved as experts, creative minds, and cooperation partners. HAU has also been a ‘strong partner’ of neighbourhood development in the area's neighbourhood council for several years. With this new offer, HAU welcomes local residents to get to know the theatre better from the audience's perspective. HAU appreciates the resulting exchange.
