“French Friends” presents a selection of outstanding French artists working in and between the areas of dance, theater, installation, performance, and discourse. The interdisciplinary festival will acquaint the audience with the special features of current “performing arts” in France. Using plenty of humor, the artists will reflect on the structures of language – and on the constellations of things and people that these structures produce.
The festival is part of TRANSFABRIK, an initiative of the Institut français in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. The project is supported by funds from the Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, from the Ministère des Affaires Etrangères, from the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, and from the DFJW. Gracious support was also provided by TOTAL and the SACD. The project is taking place within the framework of the Deutsch-Französisches Jahr – 50 Jahre Élysée-Vertrag.
