Jasmin İhraç

Biography

Jasmin İhraç grew up in Cologne and now lives and works in Berlin. After studying sociology at the Freie Universität Berlin she went to the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz (HZT). Her solo “Trois Voies” on the topic of reconstruction and authorship premiered at the 2nd Biennale Tanzausbildung in Essen. With the performance collective fanni fractal she participated in the programme Tanzrecherche NRW. In addition she has performed with deufert+plischke and has maintained a close relationship with Çatı Dans Istanbul since the project “Autour de la Table”.

The solo “iz-le” premiered in 2013, “Mj' a sin –Verflechtungen”, a cooperation with Silvina Der-Meguerditchian, was also shown for the first time in 2013 at Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Her solo “On Speeches” was part of the exhibition “Flamme Éternelle” at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in 2014. Alongside her work as a choreographer and dancer, Jasmin İhraç worked from 2012-2014 as a research assistance in the DFG project “Media and constitutive systems: Archiving performance-based art” (HMT Leipzig/HZT Berlin). In 2014 she danced in “Collective Jumps” by Isabelle Schad at HAU Hebbel am Ufer and worked with Alexandra Pirici and in various collaborations in Germany, France and Turkey. Her choreographic work “On Confluence” premiered in December 2016 at HAU.
