Salia Sanou is a central figure in contemporary dance in Burkina Faso, constantly engaged in its further development and expansion. Along with Seydou Boro he founded the company Salia nï Seydou at the end of the ‘90s, which developed a number of pieces including “Figninto”, “Weleeni” and “Poussières de Sang”. He is artistic director of Rencontres chorégraphiques de l’Afrique et de l’Océan indien and co-founder of CDC – La Termitière in Ouagadougou, the first centre for the development of choreography in Africa.
