Time and again, “Eastern Europeans” are talked about, written about and even fantasised about. But rarely taken into account is what they themselves think, want, and have to say. Based on the new HAU production by Nicoleta Esinencu & teatru-spălătorie, the programme of the festival “Every Day” is dedicated to the resistant voices of feminists from Central and Eastern Europe. Taking part will be artists and activists from different generations who themselves have experienced shifting social orders, system changes and transformation processes. Their work reflects a special awareness of social justice, class relations and the need for coalitions. Feminist struggles based on solidarity do not end with individual rights and representation – they also require us to collectively overcome authoritarian oppression and exploitation. The various related experiences release new energies that transcend borders and push for common rights and social coexistence.
