Adam Curtis’ prize-winning BBC documentary "The Century of the Self" describes how Sigmund Freud’s American nephew Edward Bernays borrowed insights from psychoanalysis and turned them into PR tools for corporations and governments: Desires instead of needs! The filmmaker and Mark Fisher will speak about how, despite public awareness, the mechanisms for manipulating opinion can continue to be successfully applied.

The evening starts at 6:30pm with a screening of The Century of the Self 1 & 2. After the talk at 9:30pm we will show Part 3 & 4 of the documentary.
