Chotto Desh

  • Dance
English /  With German translation /  approx. 60 mins.

“Chotto Desh” means “small homeland” and is the adaption of Akram Khan’s award winnig solo “DESH”. Directed by Sue Buckmaster, the Akram Khan Company tells a captivating story about the dreams and memories of a boy travelling from Great Britain to Bangladesh – his parents’ homeland – and trying to find his place in the world. A fascinating interplay unfolds on stage, combining the Indian dance style Kathak, contemporary dance, spoken word, animation, and a musical composition by Jocelyn Pook.
