The performative arts and especially the contemporary dance are moving towards smaller formats since years. Many choreographers work with a little number of dancers, less elaborate sets and use more intimate, sitespecific spaces outside the traditional theatre systems. Festivals and established institutions prefer to present smaller, innovative formats instead of larger scale productions. At the closure of the camgaign BERLIN TANZT the initiative Tanzbüro Berlin invites exposed professionals and artists to debate about the causes of this development and the meaning of the neclection of grand dance productiond for the dance genre and the society.
