In times of authoritarian shifts, global solidarity is needed. The political shift to the right is hitting refugees the hardest. At Europe's external borders, they are not only stopped, pushed back or arrested in camps. They are also increasingly being taken to court and imprisoned. Their crime: The search for protection, a life in peace or a new beginning and mutual help in the process. The sentence: often several years in prison.

Medico international and de:criminalize have set up a fund for freedom of movement to support refugees who are unlawfully imprisoned or have to defend themselves legally. The work of the fund is the starting point for the event, in which HAU, together with medico international, will embark on a search for solidarity-based answers to the social shift in rights within society and the increasing disenfranchisement of refugees at Europe's external borders.

With contributions on the Pylos massacre, in which 600 people died following an attack by the Greek Coast Guard on a refugee boat, on struggles for the right to freedom of movement with activists who were criminalised while fleeing and solidarity supporters such as Alarm Phone, the Legal Centre Lesvos, de:criminalize and others. With musical interludes, videos by Forensic Architecture and comedy on the right to freedom of movement by Jilet Ayşe.
