Bitchin Bajas | The Dwarfs of East Agouza

Concert

  • Music
approx. 100 mins.

On their new album “Bajascillator”, Bitchin Bajas pack cosmic music textures into compositions that manage to be both meditative and groovy.

In Cairo’s Agouza district, the avant-garde musicians Maurice Louca, Alan Bishop, and Sam Shalabi happened to all live in the same apartment building. After a few sessions together, they joined forces to form The Dwarfs of East Agouza. Since then, they have stood for fascinating and unpredictable trips through free jazz, kraut, Southeast Asian musical traditions, and Egyptian shaabi.
