“The Third Prince” takes you to a future in which an android shaman rediscovers ancient spiritual wisdom in Taiwan. The computer game combines shamanism, East Asian cosmologies and political stories of resistance.
The year 2096: On the island of Formosa (Taiwan), where an entire generation has forgotten how to communicate with their gods, an android shaman is born with a noble mission. Her purpose is to rediscover and decipher ancient wisdom, rekindling the lost connection and invoking the presence of the “third prince,” a synonym for the androgynous Chinese deity Nezha. Her incarnations manifest themselves in different contexts in Taiwan and China. During her journey, she reconnects with the supernatural.
“The Third Prince” invites you into the world of shamanism and explores the cosmologies of Eastern Asia. The computer game unfolds in a variety of scenarios and attempts to uncover political histories of resistance and rediscover little-known supernatural practices. It speculates on a future concept of freedom characterised by technology, geopolitics and an ethics of governance.
The game will be presented on 9 and 10 April.
