How can I use digitality to express the spectrum of my personality multidimensionally? How can I play with the “I”, transform / develop / challenge it by setting up different FACEs on the Internet?

In “FACE”, an interactive series of workshops, experiments will be made in order to use current and future technologies autonomously and politically.

The next episode “FACE your way” deals with the face as a mutable intersection between online and offline personalities. It will explore how far the digital ego continues to replace the physical in times of 5G and lockdowns, the potentials and challenges stemming from the discrepancy and simultaneity of the IRL vs. URL persona, and why the post-humanist game of contrasting appearances is an important practice for marginalized groups in particular.

Workshop participants will further develop their own digital FACE by using online platforms in an artistic way to express their own identities.

The workshop is the third and final episode of the workshop series / desktop show FACE and will be hosted by Philisha Kraatz and Tabitha Swanson.

Philisha Kraatz is part of dgtl fmnsm and works as an experience researcher and performance artist.  Tabitha Swanson presents migrant visions of a virtual world through design, 3D renderings, AR filters and synthetic makeup as the prototype of an emergent "online race".

dgtl fmnsm has presented feminist, queer and tech-positive perspectives on technology narratives since 2016.
