Following environmentalist movements in Chile, “Humo sobre los humedales” (“Smoke over wetlands”) portrays the role of women in the uprisings in 2019. It shows how environmental struggles are connected to basic rights such as access to clean water. Transmissions of a community radio, debates at the Carpa de las Mujeres, and voices for a new constitution come together with the artist’s gaze echoing a cinematographic travel diary.
Afterwards: Artist Talk
