The Arab world has been experiencing a wide variety of wars for generations. In the Western media, what dominates the news in each case is a particular military conflict, a crisis, a revolt. Then there’s peace until the next conflict. But what do the violent outbreaks in the Middle East have to do with each other – and what to they have to do with us?
