Die Technik des Glücks – Eine Franz-Jung-Revue

  • Music
  • Theatre
German /  approx. 120 min

100 years ago Franz Jung was sitting in his office at Hallesches Ufer 32, the same address as HAU2, where he and his friends stamped Spartacus slogans on banknotes. The revolution failed, like a lot of other things in the life of the writer, poet, revolutionary, anarchist, finance expert, battleship hijacker, playwright, and co-founder of the Communist Workers’ Party of Germany. Franz Jung is one of the most audacious figures in the 20th century. His excessive endeavours to get society to improve, his razor-sharp analyses of conditions are effective to this day. His companions form the ‘Who’s Who’ of the artistic, political and social avant-garde. On the occasion of the 100 year anniversary of the November Revolution, the whole team faces off with Franz Jung, who is needed today, perhaps more urgently than ever, even if in 1953 he wrote: “If I ever come back to Germany, then let it be just as drifting flotsam.”

After the show on November 15, there will be an artist talk with the team and Peter Laudenbach. Laudenbach is a journalist and theatre critic for brand eins, Süddeutsche Zeitung, tip, a.o.

Latest information for arrival

There is currently a construction site on Hallesches Ufer between Wilhelmstraße and Möckernbrücke underground station. There is a divided replacement route for pedestrians (right) and cyclists (left), which are separated by a yellow ground line. The carriageway is narrowed to one lane.

Travelling to HAU2 via U Hallesches Tor:

If you are coming from Hallesches Tor underground station, you will have to use an alternative footpath from Wilhelmstraße / Hallesches Ufer junction, which is separated from the carriageway by a construction fence – the actual footpath is currently closed. Please note: the alternative route is also used by cyclists. Pedestrians should keep to the right. We therefore currently recommend that visually impaired or blind visitors come to the HAU with an accompanying person.

Arrival HAU2 via U Möckernbrücke:

When you leave Möckernbrücke underground station, please stay on the footpath on the canal side until you reach Hallesches Ufer / Großbeerenstraße junction – the opposite side is currently closed due to construction work.
