Panel “Sound Art, Electronic Music and Performance in Slowenia, Czeck Republic, Slovakia and former Yugoslavia”

  • Dialogue
English /

The festival’s second panel will discuss “Sound Art, Electronic Music and Performance in Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and ex-Yugoslavia”. The concert program opens with the homage to Mary Ellen Bute film screenings presenting a world premiere of film music commissioned to Lucrecia Dalt. Furthermore Steffi Weismann, Paula Schopf and Jessica Ekomane will showcase a unique tray of solo performances juxtaposing electronic sound, performance and film. For Generation S (premiere) Steffi Weismann uses her own voice together with historical film footage (Secrets of Nature from 1930), objects, interviews and field recordings; in Espacios en Soledad (premiere) Paula Schopf combines record players, dubplates and video; while Jessica Ekomane concentrates exclusively on electronics. The after-show party will be directed by DJ Mary C, with eccentric rap, hacked and convoluted beats, dangerous electro, juke and dirty downtempo.
