Ion Borş

Drujba/Friendship

  • Performance
5 min

The Drujba, a Soviet motorized chain saw, becomes a musical instrument. Drujba (Friendship) is also the name of an oil pipeline. Ion Borş’ short performance is a reflection about the ways in which a state imposes its power upon other countries through elusive diplomatic channels, reducing the basis of the friendship to one single element: fear.
