The History of the Federal Republic of Germany as told by Fehler Kuti und Die Polizei

  • Music
  • Performance

Fehler Kuti is meeting with Die Polizei for a self-critical reading circle. When speaking to them of the Federal Republic of Germany, the musician doesn't mean it in the sense of a nation state or the formation of political will. Rather, he is concerned with the abstract, the invisible level of capital relations. Although these cannot be represented in themselves, they can be perceived everywhere like ghosts in their “determinant absence”. Fehler Kuti says: There needs to be a mixture of religious ritual, scientific lecture and music. Die Polizei are striking up. In their anti-racist pop, Fehler Kuti and Die Polizei sing about, expose and overwrite the German need for security, homeland and regulatory politics. Consisting of The Notwist members Markus Acher and Theresa Loibl, as well as Sachiko Hara, Maasl Maier and Sascha Schwegeler, Die Polizei will be backing Julian Warner at his concert on 6.1. as well.

This performance had its online premiere at the Münchner Kammerspiele in November 2020 and will be performed in front of an audience for the first time at HAU Hebbel am Ufer.
