Verena Regensburger / Münchner Kammerspiele

Luegen

  • Theatre
German /  75 min.

We lie between two and 200 times per day – depending on what you define as a lie: Untruths, postfacts, exaggerations, omissions, courtesies, empty phrases. But how do you spot a lie? Do gestures and facial expressions subvert the spoken word? In order to find out about the construction of truth “Luegen” pits two actresses against each other – one of them can hear and the other cannot. The stage becomes an experimental space for what is communicated consciously and subconsciously, it becomes a laboratory of authenticity that invites you to decipher, to look more closely and to observe.

The Münchener Abendzeitung wrote about the evening: “Bit by bit and with increasing delight you let yourself be seduced by the quite charming duo Puls & Wedel.”

“Luegen“ was Verena Regensburger’s graduation project as assistant director at Munich Kammerspiele. Wiebke Puls is part of the ensemble since 2005 and one of the most distinguished actresses of our times. Kassandra Wedel is an independent dancer, choreographer and actress in Munich. She was also world champion in the solo und duo category of the inclusive hip-hop championships and won the Pro7 competition “Deutschland tanzt (Germany dances)” in 2016.
