Ligia Lewis expands her solo work “Sensation 1” into a durational performance for seven dancers, with live musical accompaniment by Twin Shadow. The figure of a vocalist forms the basis for “Sensation 1/This Interior.” Lewis stretches the moment of singing into a sustained articulation of feeling and affect across multiple bodies. An ecstatic choreographed form emerges, dissolving the singular gesture of the iconic pop diva into a collective experience.
