Plattenspieler & Book Launch with Simon Reynolds

Shock and Awe: Glam Rock and Its Legacy, from the Seventies to the Twenty‑First Century

  • Dialogue
  • Music
English /  approx. 2,5 - 3 h

Spearheaded by David Bowie, T. Rex and Roxy Music, glam rock reveled in artifice and spectacle, reacting against the typical rock bands of the time. Simon Reynolds offers a fresh, in-depth look at the glam and glitter phenomenon, placing it in the wider Seventies context of social upheaval and political disillusion. After the reading Reynolds will be the guest of Thomas Meinecke’s “Plattenspieler.”
