AlphaGo is a machine learning system developed by Google's DeepMind, which defeated the Go world champion Lee Sedol in 2016. Pure computing power is not enough to win the world's oldest board game, so nobody expected a machine to beat a human. Belgian director, actor, and biologist Thomas Ryckewaert, in collaboration with cosmologist Thomas Hertog, uses this surprising moment as the starting point for a lecture performance on phenomena that defy human imagination. Tonight, nothing is as it seems – the human becomes alien, the computer is intuitive, and the robot can dream.
