Birdboy

  • Dance
English /  With German translation /  approx. 60 mins.

The second production during “PURPLE” in HAU Hebbel am Ufer is a homage to all children who feel excluded. In “Birdboy”, the company United Fall uses the metaphor of a bird and its supposed freedom to delve into the vibrant, chaotic inner world of an outsider. Alone in the middle of nowhere, dancer Kévin Coquelard comes across a car wreck. Suddenly, strange creatures appear, glowing and floating through the stage space like jellyfish. “Birdboy” is a journey through a wild and sometimes beautiful landscape of fear and isolation but also of imagination, understanding, and liberation.
