A temporary, hedonistic, and inflatable installation at the site of the former Postbank next to HAU2 fuses different formats that not only proclaim solidarity, but also practice it: those who are ostracized from today’s majority society spring to action and open up a room for encounter where ecstasy and community become possible. In this Bubble Palace, club culture, self-empowerment, and post- or neo-migrant formats merge to form an organic togetherness. Anas Aboura’s Oriental Karaoke transports the mood of karaoke bars in pre-war Damascus to Berlin: the queer karaoke Queereeoké liberates the soul—singing and armed with glitter and liqueur—from its troubled normalcy. In addition, each evening offers live music and DJ-sets: the oriental Slow House duo Shkoon musically combines the orient and occident; Boy Division and One Mother bring together anarcho-punk, politics, sex, a megaphone, and heavy beats.
