Repeater – Tanzstück mit Vater

  • Dance
approx. 60 min.

“It used to be that my father and I worked with wood, repaired bikes, harvested cherries and travelled together. But this was a long time ago. My work as choreographer in the world only allows for little time and space for projects together. While it used to be my father‘s work that set the limits, now it is mine. The piece "Repeater" is a proposal: spend more time together through an invitation to my father, the retiree, to join my work. Thus, choreography might become a hobby. For my father it already has. We confront long-borne grudges and discover surprising advantages of each other. But the piece doesn't necessarily reveal or express this. The project of making a dance piece together is the focus. The vacuum of the long-lasting silence being filled in this way, becoming a presence on stage, in which we, father and son, perform.” (Martin Nachbar)

After touring all over the world for ten years, Martin Nachbar and his father’s piece will now be shown for one final performance.
