In 2007 Sabeen Mahmud founded "the Second Floor (T2F)" in Karachi, a social experimentation field, political forum, creative laboratory, a ‘third space’ in the sense of cultural theorist Homi K. Bhabha. In 2015 she was assassinated. Mahenaz Mahmud introduces her daughter’s project with the multimedia presentation "Dil Phaink - Throwing Your Heart Into the World". The following discussion “Off the Public, Off the Home” looks into the possibilities of cultural freedom in Karachi today.
