Enter: AI – A conversation about the festival

With Pau Palacios (Agrupación Señor Serrano), Agnieszka Polska, Nina Tecklenburg (Interrobang), Claudix Vanesix and Rik Lander
Moderation: Clara Herrmann (Akademie der Künste)

For the festival HAU has invited artists who work with and about AI. In this panel discussion, they will talk about their work and discuss the sociopolitical impacts of a life and work environment increasingly supported by AI. How do the artists position themselves between a critical commentary on the current development of AI and an artistic joy in experimentation? What narratives and metaphors do they choose when dealing with AI? What stories, errors, and absurdities inspire them? And what artistic strategies exist to disrupt the heavily occupied spaces of AI?

Pau Palacios is co-founder of the Barcelona-based theater group Agrupación Señor Serrano whose productions deal with the contradictory aspects of human experience.

Agnieszka Polska works as a visual artist utilizing photography, painting, video, installation, and performances. In 2017 she received the National Gallery Prize.

Nina Tecklenburg is a founding member of the Berlin-based group Interrobang and a professor at Bard College Berlin.

Claudix Vanesix uses immersive media and machine learning to address topics like internet culture and gamification within the framework of postcolonial critique.

Rik Lander started as a video artist and now develops participatory and interactive media art. He works and lives in Brussels.

Clara Herrmann heads the Junge Akademie, the international residency program of the Academy of the Arts, through which she developed the programs 'Mensch Maschine' and ‘AI Anarchies’.
