Residency: April and May 2013 Presentation: 8.5.2013 at Houseclub approx 20 min

In April and May of 2013, the guest at the Houseclub was Ibrahim Quraishi. He worked with the young people, researching soap operas and developing their own episodes. First they observed the aesthetic and dramaturgical principles of soap operas, and then explored them afterwards by re-enacting them. They wrote and composed their own stories, trying out various performance strategies and different media to see what effect they had. This led to a wide variety of scenes; short, filmed episodes, small audio plays, photos, and choreographies. The collected research material was formed into an installation. Visitors were able to choose how to navigate through it, influencing the story they saw and received. As they moved through the installation, their own personal soap opera emerged.
