Symposium “Explodierende Zeiten, ver_rückte Räume: Disability Art & Crip Spacetime”

Integrated audio description / German Sign Language / Relaxed Performance

Part of "NO LIMITS Festival Berlin"

Disability can be an incalculable and unpredictable quantity because it affects our relationship with time and space. This relationship to space and time, which does not correspond to the social norms - "Crip Spacetime" - is likewise reflected in the works of disabled artists. In lectures, workshops and roundtable discussions, the symposium will explore this influence of non-normative perceptions and physicalities on our lives: How do disabled artists use their own experiences to develop unique artistic practices and aesthetics in relation to crip spacetime, so-called "Crip Aesthetics"?

Some productions come with an integrated AD.

Strobe light, abrupt changes of light and sudden or very loud sounds are avoided. Audience members can move about or make noise.
