“Are we more than just our bodies?” asks Mariana Villegas. The protagonist of the solo evening opens up conventional views for discussion, attending to the difference between people who appear desirable and those whose appearance does not fit the norm. Villegas finds herself excluded and beyond the standards defined by the beauty industry. “Este cuerpo mío” shows the necessity of redefining our understanding of the body.
